We are exceptionally proud of the Jobsite team today after they were named overall winner in the Inspiring Social Action in Young People category at Business in the Community’s annual Responsible Business Awards Gala Dinner in London last night!

The award recognises Jobsite’s work with Havant based charity Music Fusion, which uses music to engage with young people from challenging backgrounds. In addition to financial sponsorship and business support, Jobsite helped create the “Words Not Weapons” video documentary, and its employees volunteered to provide pro bono PR and Marketing support, CV writing help and interview training.

View Jobsite’s Founder, Keith Potts, and CSR Consultant, Jackie Jones, reactions to the win:

Chair of the Judging Panel and Group CSR and Sustainability Director at CapGemini, James Robey, commented “we were hugely impressed by this brave and ambitious programme and the numbers of Jobsite staff’s investing in pro-bono time and infrastructure support. Almost 50 young people were directly involved in shaping and supporting the Words Not Weapons programme and have increased the reach of programme engaging more than 6,000 people.”

As well as the positive social impacts of the partnership mentioned by Robey, Jobsite has also confirmed that 73 young people have stopped carrying a weapon and a further 24 decided against starting to carry a weapon as a result of the campaign.

Many people involved with the project have now become Jobsite.co.uk users, and around a third of Jobsite employees have volunteered or supported fundraising events, with the latest staff survey showing that 80% of employees are proud to work for a brand knowing that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is so central to the organisation.

Congratulations to all involved!
